Mini Scissors from Seki | Yellow

Mini Scissors from Seki | Yellow

$27.00

By Cohana

Cohana’s cute and playful mini scissors are a serious pair of snips, perfectly packaged for keeping them close at hand.

The scissors are sourced from Hasegawa Cutlery in Seki of the Gifu Prefecture, Japan’s foremost cutlery-making town. With 87 years of experience you can be sure that each pair comes from the hands of a skilled craftsperson that takes great pride in their work.

Cohana adorns the scissors with a small handmade silk tassel, a traditional decoration of Yame Chochin paper lanterns. Each tassel is carefully handmade by Imasato, a specialist in tassels and knots since 1907, located in Yame of the Fukuoka Prefecture.

Cohana completes this tiny package with a high-quality genuine leather case, protecting the snips so they can be stored safety in a project bag or pencil case.

Though small in size, these scissors are fully operational with great cutting ability. To use, simply pinch the snips between thumb and forefinger.

ABOUT COHANA

Located in Nihonbashi, a district of Tokyo, Cohana works directly with skilled artisans across Japan to bring together an exclusive range of quality handmade tools and notions for those who love handicrafts.

For Cohana, inspiration comes from Japanese mythology. The brands own name derived from the goddess Konohanasakuya-hime, a symbol of delicate earthly life who is said to be as beautiful as the blooming cherry tree blossoms.

Cohana incorporates traditional Japanese colours to reflect the changing of the seasons. Yellow for the daffodils of spring, rose red a symbol for happy thoughts, pale indigo reminiscent of shallow water, blue for the Asiatic dayflower and sky grey, a chic colour of the unique Japanese aesthetic quality, 'iki', an expression of simplicity and sophistication.

With all materials and production carefully monitored, Cohana ensures each piece is made to exacting standards to withstand the test of time.
