DHG’s Corriedale wool top is an all-purpose fibre, perfect for when colour palette and price are front of mind.
Known for its spinnability and delightful bouncy texture, Corriedale wool is steadily becoming a favourite amongst textile crafters.
An ideal choice for new spinners, it’s not-to-short staple length (78-80mm) allows for laidback spinning and easy fibre management.
And although not ultra-fine at 27 microns, the fibres are still soft to the touch making it ideal for yarns destined to become a range of hand-worked garments.

ABOUT WOOL TOPS
Wool tops are a commercially prepared wool product in which the wool fibres undergo a mechanical combing process to straighten and align the fibres.
The result is an extremely smooth, silky fibre preparation favoured by hand spinners and textile artists.
Use wool top for hand-spinning, weaving, needle and wet felting, giant knitting and a myriad of textile art projects.
FINISHING
To block or wash your piece, prepare a bath of tepid water and if desired add a few drops of mild detergent or wool wash. Immerse the piece and soak for 5 to 10 minutes. Lift the piece from the water and allow to drain. Gently remove excess water by pressing the fabric between layers of a dry towel. Lay flat to dry.

To extend the colour life of dark and bright colours we recommend that only mild soaps be used and washing in cold water, limiting any soaking time to 10 minutes.
